Collier County Community Assessment: Your Help is Needed!

We Hear You sign

If knowledge is the first step to positive action, count on Collier County leadership to take care to know what’s happening in the community. The first Collier County needs assessment survey, which was conducted from 2016 to 2017, resulted in a comprehensive 2018 report. The information gathered during the survey and other focused conversations informed a variety of local initiatives. Now, that same group of community leaders is at it again. The Collier County Community Assessment survey is open online for public submission, and everyone is encouraged to participate.

Along with the Collier Community Foundation and other partners, the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation is leading the effort, and any questions should be directed to Lisa Church at (239) 610-1447 or lmchurch@schulzefamilyfoundation.org. The survey is designed to be quick and easy to complete, taking only about 10 minutes but hopefully getting into the true need within Collier County. Anyone who is age 18 and older in Collier County is welcome to share their thoughts. All responses are confidential and anonymous.

The online survey is available in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole. Visit the Schulze Family Foundation website to access the survey. Submissions will be accepted through March, but why wait! Share your thoughts now for a healthy and vibrant community. If you need paper copies of the survey, please send your request to Lisa Church at the Schulze Family Foundation.

Questions are broad and aim to understand quality of life in Collier County. You’ll be asked to share your thoughts about how people are able to access childcare, healthcare, mental health services, dental care, employment opportunities, and reliable food sources, among other basic needs. Additionally, topics will include priorities like safety, housing, and availability of arts and cultural activities and open public spaces. This is a great opportunity to share what you think makes Collier County a desirable and supportive place to live, and what needs improvement, both in the short term and in the future.

Future Ready Collier supports this effort to learn more about the current state of our community, and how we can come together to ensure a brighter future. Helping Collier County thrive in turn helps our schools and students thrive. Future Ready Collier has demonstrated the importance of collective impact, showing that collaboration around shared goals results in meaningful, positive change. Please click now to take part in this valuable survey as Collier County again comes together to make a difference.
