Attention, Collier County Public School (CCPS) families! School starts soon! Students report back to classrooms on Thursday, August 10, hopefully refreshed from an active, enriching summer. Parents who are looking forward to the routine of the school year kicking back into gear, keep in mind that CCPS registration must be completed ahead of time for an on-time start. For new students, including kindergarteners, registration is required by July 15 to ensure there are no delays! Read on for information about what you need for a successful, easy registration process, and great start to the school year.

Online School Registration – How To, and What You Need

The CCPS website is a great resource for everything you need to know and access related to online school registration. Everything can be done electronically, including sending in photos of important documents you’ve taken with your phone or tablet. No scanning required! The system is designed to be mobile-friendly. If you do have questions about anything connected to school registration, CCPS welcomes you to email registration@collierschools.com or call (239) 377-0547.

If you’re wondering what documents you need to complete CCPS’ online registration, check out this list in English, Spanish, or Haitian Creole. The required information includes:

  • Parent or guardian photo identification
  • A birth certificate or passport for the registering student
  • Documentation of the student’s physical exam within the last 12 months
  • Completed Florida immunization form
  • Social Security Card (if available)
  • Proof of address
  • Proof of Custody (if applicable)
  • Report cards or records from a previous school for students beginning 1st grade and above
  • Copy of Individual Education Plan (IEP) or 504 plan (if applicable)

There are also steps in English, Spanish, and Creole for how to complete online registration once you have the information you need. When you’ve submitted your registration request, you can easily check the status on the CCPS registration website. If parents have multiple children enrolling with CCPS, they can use the same account for each. And for returning CCPS families, parents can use their existing account from the prior year. Not sure which immunizations are required for your child? CCPS has lists for that, too, in English, Spanish, and Creole on this web page, and you can call (239) 252-8200 to register for a back-to-school health fair on July 12. The good news is that, as soon as you have the information and documents you need, registration only takes 15 to 30 minutes, and can be confirmed as soon as the same day!

Be School Ready Before August 10

CCPS wants students and their families to be ready to go on the first day of classes. This can be helped by checking bus routes and schedules beginning in August, dress codes, school supply lists, meal availability, and more. Visit this useful checklist for some of the important details to confirm before August 10, and a few ways to stay in touch with CCPS, including on social media and through a free app.

Of course absences happen from time to time, but CCPS wants families to know that attendance matters. In fact, missing only 2 days of school each month can add up to a child missing 10% of the entire school year. The first days of the school year are a child’s best first chance to meet their new teachers, get to know their new classmates, learn their daily routines, and be ready to have a terrific academic year. CCPS wants to work with parents to make sure students are fully registered and prepared by August 10. If you have any questions at all, reach out and ask.

Future Ready Collier (FRC) supports school readiness as one of its primary objectives. FRC partners with CCPS to share important information, and to help connect families to needed resources in the community.
