The Immokalee Foundation invites rising middle schoolers – 6th, 7th, and 8th graders – to apply for their Career Pathways Program. Supporting elementary through high school students, The Immokalee Foundation’s established programs provide access to a range of learning experiences, field trips, mentors, and more. Applications are available in their Immokalee offices, and close on June 30th, 2023. For more information, call them at (239) 657-2461. Lessons learned during Middle School Career Pathways continue through high school and are designed to lead to sustainable, rewarding chosen careers.

Middle school program participants benefit from early introductions to potential career opportunities and types. Career Exploration empowers students to learn about the choices they have in their careers, and to believe those careers are attainable with strong enough foundations. Six-week sessions cover Engineering & Construction Management, Business Management & Entrepreneurship, Education &  Human Services, and Health Care. Features of the program include panel discussions with career representatives, workshops, aptitude and interest assessments, and a STEM Academy hosted in partnership with Florida Gulf Coast University. Additionally, 8th graders will have the opportunity to work with career counselors to begin to create a plan for high school. Importantly, students’ parents are involved through regular communication.

The Immokalee Foundation is a member of the Future Ready Collier partner network, which consists of over 60 education providers and support organizations dedicated to enhancing learning and developmental opportunities for students throughout Collier County. Partners appreciate that learning takes place both in and out of the classroom, and offer a range of programs and services to ensure students and their families have access to a variety of support systems.
