Need help paying for college?

FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Completing the FAFSA is the first step toward getting financial aid for college, career school, or graduate school. The FAFSA gives students access to the largest source of federal and state grants, federal work-study funds, and student loans. Completing the FAFSA is also a requirement by most colleges who offer intuitional scholarships as well as community based and private scholarships. Financial Aid from the FAFSA may be used to pursue a variety of degree and programs including Associate and Bachelor degrees as well as Career, Technical, and Vocational Certifications.

In Collier County, community-based organizations with an education focus have partnered together to help our students gain access to financial aid opportunities by completing their FAFSA. Trained volunteers partner with local high schools to help students navigate through the FAFSA process in one-on-one sessions. Check out our calendar to find various opportunities for help in completing the FAFSA.

Together we have learned that for every 10% a school increases it’s FAFSA completion rate, it’s college going rate increases by 3%.
The Future Ready College & Career Readiness workgroup is continuing to work on increasing FAFSA completion with a goal of 46 % completion in the county. We want to ensure that our young people graduate high school on track to obtain a degree or credential – – and to be Future Ready.
